INSIDE OUR SPICE FACTORY IN VIETNAM: WHERE TRADITION MEETS MODERN SPICE PROCESSING

Have you ever wondered where your spices really come from? Not just the country, but the very spice factory where raw bark becomes fine cinnamon powder, or where peppercorns are sorted, cleaned, and prepared for global markets?
At VietGlobal Export (VGE), our spice factory is more than just a production facility — it’s the heartbeat of everything we do. Located across Vietnam’s key spice-growing regions, our factories are strategically positioned to ensure freshness, traceability, and scale. From the cool mountains of the north to the rich volcanic soil of the south, our processing hubs bring together the best of tradition and innovation.
From the fields to the factory
The journey of a spice is long, but it begins humbly — on a hillside, under the sun, in the hands of a local farmer.
In the cool, misty regions of Lao Cai and Yen Bai, cinnamon bark is carefully peeled from the trunks of mature cassia trees, star anise flowers are hand-picked at peak aroma, and black cardamom pods are harvested in the early morning fog. These provinces are Vietnam’s spice capitals — rich in biodiversity, tradition, and ideal climatic conditions.

Instead of sending these raw materials on long journeys to distant processors, VGE has built local spice factories right where the raw ingredients are grown. This proximity allows us to preserve the natural qualities of each spice — the high essential oil in our cassia, the rich licorice aroma of our star anise, and the intense smoky character of our cardamom — while ensuring full traceability and supporting local communities.
Farther south, in Dong Nai, our pepper factory sits close to Vietnam’s largest black and white pepper plantations. Here, we process, clean, sterilize, and pack one of the world’s most traded spices — ensuring global buyers receive uniform quality with every order.

What happens inside our spice factory?
When you walk into one of our factories, it’s a combination of sight, scent, and system.
Spices arrive fresh from the farms and immediately go through sorting and pre-cleaning. For cassia, outer bark is removed, thickness is graded, and sticks are aligned by roll and cut. For star anise, we separate whole flowers from broken pieces and classify them by size and color. Black cardamom pods are dried using traditional firewood kilns before being cooled and cleaned.
In Dong Nai, peppercorns go through a multi-stage process: drying, machine-cleaning, gravity separation, color sorting, and optional steam sterilization — an important step for clients requiring microbiological safety, especially in Europe and North America.
Our spice factories are equipped with industrial grinders and fine mesh sifters for powder production, typically 60–80 mesh, depending on client needs. All powders are passed through magnetic separators and sieves to ensure product consistency and safety.
Quality assurance is built into every level of the process. Moisture content is checked regularly to keep it under 13.5%. We minimize admixture to 1% or less. Every batch is documented, traceable, and can be tested by independent labs like SGS or Intertek upon request.
And of course, every factory is certified to international food safety standards — ISO 22000, HACCP, HALAL, and FDA-compliant.

A wide range of spices, all under one roof
Our spice factory network allows us to process a full range of Vietnamese export spices.
In Yen Bai and Lao Cai, we produce over 10 grades of cassia cinnamon — from bold cigarette sticks and square cut to peeled tubes and cassia powder. Star anise is processed from spring and autumn harvests into premium, reddish, and broken grades.
Black cardamom — known for its smoky, camphor-rich aroma — is dried in traditional firewood chambers in the mountain regions before final sorting and packing.
Meanwhile, our Dong Nai facility handles black and white pepper — machine-cleaned, steam-sterilized, double-washed — tailored to every customer’s preference, whether seasoning blends or retail packing.
Tailored packing, documentation & global logistics
No matter the spice, our factories provide tailored packaging — from 10kg cartons to 30kg PP or PE bags. For powder spices, we use moisture-resistant linings for longer shelf life. Labeling, barcoding, and palletizing are done per customer specs.
Each shipment is backed by full documentation, including Certificate of Origin, Phytosanitary Certificate, and FDA Registration. Whether you import to India, the Middle East, ASEAN, or Europe, our logistics team ensures seamless coordination and on-time delivery.

Who we serve — and why they trust us
Our spice factory network allows us to serve a wide range of B2B customers.
If you’re a spice trader looking for consistent bulk supply, we offer high volumes, stable pricing, and year-round availability. If you’re a manufacturer, we help you maintain flavor profiles across batches — whether you’re making curry powders, ready-to-eat meals, or essential oil extracts.
We also support distributors and wholesalers in setting up private label products, retail packs, and even customized spice blends.
Over the years, we’ve built long-term partnerships in the Middle East, South Asia, ASEAN, and Europe. Our clients come back not just for the spices — but for the people, the service, and the way we make them feel heard and supported.
Why a spice factory in Vietnam?
Vietnam is not only a spice powerhouse — it’s a land of unique microclimates and centuries-old farming knowledge. With mountains in the north and tropical lowlands in the south, the country offers ideal growing conditions for a wide spectrum of spices.
Our spice factory model is built on this diversity. By setting up regional processing hubs in Lao Cai, Yen Bai, and Dong Nai, we stay close to raw materials, reduce logistics costs, and ensure freshness at scale.
Combined with Vietnam’s growing logistics infrastructure and pro-trade policies, this makes us not just a Vietnamese supplier — but a truly global partner.
