- Sri Lanka: 24,000 tons
Although Vietnam’s production is about half that of China and Indonesia, the country leads the world in cinnamon export value. In 2022, Vietnam accounted for 18.2% of global cinnamon production but commanded 34.4% of the global export market, earning over $292 million.

Opportunities and Market Potential
The Vietnam Pepper and Spice Association (VPA) notes significant growth opportunities for cinnamon, driven by rising demand in premium markets such as the U.S. and Europe. Vietnam benefits from modern free trade agreements (FTAs) like CPTPP and VPA/FLEGT, offering reduced or eliminated tariffs on wood and wood products.
